That’s why I’m excited to share this month’s action task with you, which focuses on equipping your child with practical regulation skills using analogies. Action Task: Download and Try the Activity Posters on Managing AngerFor this month's action task, I've created activity posters for two analogies: the fire analogy and the volcano analogy. These posters are designed to help your child visualise and understand how to manage their anger using the "Stop, Drop, and Roll" strategy. Here's How You Can Get StartedStep 1: Download the Posters Step 2: Brainstorm with Your Child Sit down together and discuss ways to create calm when emotions run high. Encourage them to think of ways they can manage their anger proactively. Step 3: Display Them Place the posters in a prominent spot where your child can see them regularly. This could be on the fridge, in their bedroom, or any common area. The visual reminders will help reinforce the strategies and make it easier for your child to remember what to do when they feel angry. Step 4: Practice and Encourage Encourage your child to refer to the posters whenever they start to feel angry. Practice the strategies together as a family. Consistency is key. Skills take time to develop, so don’t panic if your child doesn’t seem to grasp everything right away. Be patient and supportive of their progress.
